Boat Detailer / Polisher
Crew for Oceanix Yacht Care, Tauranga
Casual / Part-Time Work Available Now

Oceanix Yacht Care are looking for a boat washdown/detailer/polisher to help out with work leading up to Christmas, with ongoing opportunities for the right person starting again in 2026. 

This Role is Ideal for: Marine or superyacht crew between seasons, or looking for a couple of days/weeks/months work between offshore jobs, or whilst you are home for the holidays. Or even better, someone with hands-on detailing/polishing experience looking for a long-term career in this industry.

About the Company:
Oceanix offers a premium boat care service, providing intensive detailing and valet services for yachts, powerboats, trailer boats, and high-end vehicles. Our work is fully mobile, and we operate across Tauranga Bridge Marina, Sulphur Point Marina, Tauranga Drystack, and on-site at various client locations. If you enjoy physical work, being outdoors, and taking pride in perfect results, this could be the job for you.

About the Role: 
  • Washing and detailing boats
  • Machine polishing, buffing, cut and polish
  • Waxing and applying surface protection
  • Stainless steel, teak, and interior cleaning
  • Oxidisation removal
  • Engine room cleans
  • Window treatments
  • Applying ceramic protective coatings
  • Supporting the Oceanix team with a range of mobile valet services
Hours vary depending on workload and weather. Work is mainly Mon–Fri, with flexibility to pick up extra hours.

We’re Looking For: 
  • Experience in boat washing, polishing or detailing 
  • Someone physically capable, reliable and comfortable using tools
  • A good eye for detail and pride in finishing work to a high standard
  • Flexibility to work casual hours
  • NZ Citizen/Resident or valid Work Visa
  • Driver’s licence preferred
  • Based in Tauranga with reliable transport to get to work
